Super stylish base for exploring the Borders

My husband and I booked a week at The Five Turrets, to be close to Edinburgh to see a niece who is at Uni there, but to have a base away from the city so that we could explore the Borders. It took a while to find a self catering rental that departed from the traditional Scottish/tartan look, and it was worth the search. The house is so interesting and stylish, and beautifully kitted out. It has the best equipped kitchen we've ever seen in a rental. Gorgeous views from our bed, over the hills. A large TV for movie nights and a Netflix binge. A proper party house for a group. (The niece turned up with friends for free food and booze, obviously!) The location is perfect - we did lots of sightseeing. Castles, country houses, the seaside, a cashmere factory. Up to Edinburgh and back on the train. The Northumberland National Park and Hadrian's Wall on the way south to go home. There's still a lot we want to see, so we'll be back. Well worth multiple visits. Thank you to Gethin for being so welcoming and enthusiastic. It was nice to have you just over the road in case we needed anything.

Excellent place

Staying in Five Turrets is like reliving history in a very modern way, the contrast of historical exterior and modern interior.

Amazing property

Such a beautiful house, plenty of space for a large family to spread out, gorgeous views, and everything you could need in the kitchen.
