Best Self-Catering Accommodation Experience

The Scottish Thistle awards select The Five Turrets as a regional finalist.

The prestigious Scottish Thistle Awards are back - and this time with The Five Turrets on the shortlist.

The glamorous self-catering property has been chosen by judges in the Best Self-Catering Accommodation Experience category.

The awards, run by Visit Scotland, "recognise and honour the very best individuals, businesses, partnerships and events in the industry for their innovation, excellence and success."

The Selkirk townhouse has previously won recognition from Cosmopolitan, The Guardian, The Times and many others.

Judges selected the four-bedroom exclusive use property as one of the finalists in the Lothian and Borders regional final.

Organisers said: "There have been a significant number of exceptionally high quality applications this year and we are delighted to recognise you as an outstanding candidate."

The awards are making a welcome return after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Visit Scotland said: "The Awards mark an important celebration of the best in our industry as we move towards recovery. Now more than ever, the Scottish Thistle Awards showcases the very best of Scotland’s tourism sector, helping to ensure that tourism, and the individuals who work in the industry, are recognised for the positive impact they bring to the country and our communities.

"Responsible tourism is at the heart of the refreshed Scottish Thistle Awards, supporting the aim for Scotland to be recognised globally as a leader in this field. This year, entrants must evidence how they have embraced best practice covering the four key areas of a low carbon economy, inclusivity, thriving communities and Scotland’s natural and cultural heritage. "

Winners will be announced at the Regional Final Awards Dinner at Prestonfield House Hotel, Edinburgh, on 27 October.
