BEDROOMS
Our newly-refurbished bedrooms are named after the local rivers - the Tweed, Ettrick, Yarrow and Teviot.
We use award winning Casper mattress - described by Which? magazine as "supportive, breathable, stable, easy to turn over on, doesn't sag or soften, support doesn't deteriorate with time. Cons? None.”
Bedlinen is Egyptian cotton and each room is carpeted and fitted with a modern and efficient radiator equipped with individual thermostat.
Ettrick is the largest of the four bedrooms, with glorious views out to the hills across the Ettrick valley. We can set it up with twin beds or as a super king - just let us know in advance. This ground floor room is ideal for guests with limited mobility and is fitted with a chest of drawers and an open wardrobe, complete with suitcase storage.
Normally set up as a super king, it can also be configured as two singles. Let us know which you prefer. There’s a window seat so guests can savour the gorgeous view through the full height windows out across to the hills on the other side of the Ettrick valley. There’s a good view of one of the rear turrets too - always a bonus for those who like to share their good fortune on Instagram. An open wardrobe with suitcase storage and a chest of drawers completes the facilities.
A double bedroom with a lovely oak bed frame with slatted headboard and a sprung slatted base, this room has the best views in the house, adjoining one of the rear turrets and with extensive views out over the hills across the valley. If you are up for sunrise, take in the spectacular view of Peat’s Law as the sun hits it and turns it a vivid red. There’s a built in wardrobe, a chair and a chest of drawers to complete the set up.
The only room with its very own turret, for those guests who want to sit in the window seat and channel their inner Rapunzel. There’s a king size oak framed bed with slatted headboard and a sprung slatted base and an open wardrobe with suitcase storage, a chest of drawers and another chair completes the set up.
